Lifecycle Plant Replacement
Metropolitan has been carrying out lifecycle replacement projects since our foundation in 1985. With a number of clients having regular Metropolitan site attendance, we have often provided advice and carried out Lifecycle Replacement Studies for the client to build their annual capex budgets. We have experience in the replacement of both electrical and mechanical systems such as UPS Systems, Generators, Busbars, LV/MV Switchboards, Transformers, Lighting and Small Power, Boilers, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Life Safety Equipment and BMS Systems.
With our experience in these projects, we are able to survey the clients existing systems, report our findings and provide recommendations. Whilst replacing equipment due to its age and cost to maintain is important, we also look to improve energy efficiency, providing clients with ROI information to allow them to make informed decisions.
As with data centres, working on live plant replacement projects is risky, and a clear plan is required to ensure all stakeholders are aware, and have the ability to comment on, key milestones, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and witnessing. Clear lines of communication are always developed to ensure a collaborative and transparent working relationship with our client.
We have just completed our largest project to date, replacing M&E plant across an original Canary Wharf building over a three year period.
