The designer outlet wanted to install a new temporary immersive experience, which provided additional entertainment for families within the centre's new extension. This was to be an experimental installation to gauge interest from the public before rolling out nationwide. The design of the experience had been carried out by a specialist AV company.
Metropolitan were appointed Principal Contractors for the project, managing the Construction, Mechanical, Electrical and specialist AV services. The existing unit was a standard retail shell which required partitioning and new M&E services to feed the specialist equipment. The area was fitted out in around 3 weeks, allowing the AV contractor to attend and install the specialist projectors and interactive equipment. Metropolitan managed all compliance documentation and ensured that electrical, fire, building and mechanical safety information was issued to the client upon successful completion. We provided a full handover pack for the incumbent maintenance provider to take control of the system as BAU. The experience was a huge success, with thousands of visitors during its opening weekend.
