Recently a long-standing blue-chip client contacted us to assist with a critical project within a data suite at Canary Wharf. We were chosen due to our experience and reputation working with critical services, delivery on short timescales, and high standards of work. The project consisted of installing new electrical supplies to data cabinets within a live data hall, providing resilience from separate UPS systems.
Cabling was run on existing containment from the switchgear located in the adjacent room and terminated into new 32A 3Ph commando sockets beneath the raised access floor. Due to the modification of the switchgear by a previous contractor, our engineers had to disconnect and reconnect existing circuitry. Cable terminations were re-labeled and fitted with external heat shrink for easy identification. All newly installed and re-terminated circuits were subjected to the full range of electrical tests required by BS7671. NICEIC test certification was issued along with new ‘As Installed’ Drawings and circuit charts posted in the relevant locations.
