Metropolitan were appointed as Main Contractor and took full design responsibility for the project from feasibility to RIBA Stage 4 before constructing the solution. Initially, we removed a couple of faulty units which had been isolated by the on site maintenance team. This provided necessary space to carry out floor modification and install the new units by extending existing pipework and installing new power. These units were energised and fully commissioned before moving to the next units which were replaced on an individual basis to maintain cooling level in the data hall. A detailed logistic plan was required to ensure units were installed without disruption to the live cabinets. All units were successfully installed, commissioned and handed to the maintenance team for BAU. All compliance and record documentation was handed over as part of the O&M information.
