Brief
One of our blue-chip financial clients requested assistance with a community project. Their idea was to renovate a small derelict retail space in close proximity to NHS Nightingale London, creating a ‘Mindful’ space for NHSstaff away from the hospital and their local accommodation. The space was designed as a calm space to unwind after shifts.
Solution
We surveyed the site on the 14th April and were appointed Principal Contractor and Principal Designer for the project shortly after. Once Pre-Construction Information had been collated and H&S documentation produced, we began construction works on 20th April, adhering strictly to all current safety guidance. The work consisted of isolating and stripping out of the existing M&E services prior to the new services being installed. The client’s construction company installed suspended ceilings, plasterboard partitions and renewed all finishes. The existing kitchenette area was updated with a more modern replacement. New luminaires were installed to suit, along with electrical and mechanical supplies to the kitchenette and toilet facilities. We replaced all sanitaryware, to ensure a high standard of finish. Furniture was installed on the 27th April, ready for our NHS Heroes to start using the facility straight away.
