The client required a replacement power generation system designed to enable them to provide sufficient resilience to their technical headquarters in the North West.
The project consisted of installing two new generators and belly tanks in an external loading bay area. Prior to start, we completed ground scanning to ensure that we would create no conflicts with existing services. The survey results returned an “all clear” status and the project was cleared to start. The proposed area's surface was uneven and required a new level concrete surface to accept the generator footplates. A new foundation was laid and generators installed with new containment and cabling into the existing building LV switch room. Detailed schedules were proposed to facilitate a series of phased shutdowns, enabling the connection and commissioning of the new services. We installed new security perimeter fencing around the generators to prevent unauthorised access, as well as providing protection from moving vehicles in the loading bay. The project was delivered within the agreed programme and on budget to the highest of standards.
