After completing an extension to their residential property, a key client was having difficulty in sourcing a piece of furniture to fit a unique space in their home that would also compliment the interior design and styling.
The Metropolitan solution
The MES joinery team was instructed to assist with this project and visited the customer's home for a consultation.
The team presented a set of material samples and potential colour variations that could be achieved with natural woods and combinations of stains and lacquers. We also demonstrated hardware options; the customer opted for handle-less doors with push to-open mechanisms and Blum soft-close hinges. We then measured the space, took photos and created templates for the in-house design team.
The MES joinery draftsman used the measurements to create designs for the customer to approve, with a number of revisions made before final approval.
The designs were passed to the workshop for production with a strict deadline of installation before Christmas.
The in-house team of craftsmen assembled this unique cabinet piece over two weeks. They used a combination of oak veneer, MDF and solid oak to create a uniform yet unique finish. The joinery received a light oak stain and had a 30 per cent matt lacquer spray shop finish.
Our team delivered and installed the piece in approximately half a day.
The customer was extremely happy with the end result, and now has a completely unique piece of furniture built to their exacting specification.
