Like everyone, I’m sure you have all seen the Prime Ministers announcement putting the UK into lockdown.
Over the past two weeks we have been working day and night to facilitate our customers’ needs, knowing that this time will come and to prepare them accordingly. However, in light of the announcement, all work on Metropolitan sites will cease unless absolutely necessary at 6 am today.
How we measure ‘Absolutely Necessary’ is difficult and upon review by our management teams, we cannot justify any current works that fall into the category. We do not have all the facts on each project from a client’s perspective to be able to justify the ‘Absolutely Necessary’ statement, so therefore welcome discussions going forward with all customers.
We will shortly issue each customer with a list of their current projects, what status they are at and any risks we can identify with us not being on-site. As part of our business continuity planning; our staff are working remotely and we will be busy planning works which we hope will recommence in 3 weeks, minimising any risks to project end dates. Our staff have been informed to not travel, but in some cases we may have to attend site to safely lock down the area and equipment.
These are unprecedented times and our thoughts go out to all key workers at this time and with special thoughts to all those in the NHS.
We all feel a bit helpless right now and wish we could do more. Should we receive a call we will, however in the meantime we will sit tight, distance ourselves and help beat this pandemic accordingly.
All the best and stay safe
